Spectator Guide

We hope you’re excited about The Greatest Spectacle in Running®! The OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K invite you to join in the excitement! Below you will find helpful information to prepare you for the nation’s Most Iconic Half-Marathons.

Race Morning

If you plan on joining in person, arrive early in downtown Indianapolis to give yourself plenty of time to find parking. Many downtown streets will be closed to traffic and public parking in preparation for the 500 Festival running events. Several parking facilities will be open for event parking and please keep in mind that due to street closings, not all routes into the various parking locations will be available. Before you venture downtown, please review road closures.

Track Your Runner

There are a few ways you can track a participant!

  1. Track Through the Results Page
    • Head over to the results page and click on the "searchable results" tab at the top
    • Search for the participant you wish to track by their name or bib number.
    • Click on the participant you wish to track and select "add to tracker" at the bottom of the page
    • Go to the "Trackers" tab at the top
    • Click their name and refresh the page to see their results after they cross certain checkpoints. Be sure to check out the course maps to familiarize yourself with the route. It’s also best to ask the participant what their estimated pace is. For example, if they have a 10-minute mile, they’ll likely cross the 5K mark 30-35 minutes after they cross the start line, so you’ll want to refresh the page around that time
    • Results will auto-populate at the following locations (all locations approximate):
Start Line – Outside of the JW Marriott on Washington
5K (3.1 miles) – Near Michigan and Berwick 3464 W 10th St, Indianapolis, IN 46222
10K (6.2 miles) – Inside IMS just as participants arrive on the track. Please be advised that spectators are not allowed inside IMS.
15K (9.3 miles) – On Olin Ave between 16th and 11th
20K (12.4 miles) – Near New York St and Lansing
Finish Line – On the north side of Military Park on New York St

2. Track Through Your Participant's Location
    • If the participant is running with their phone or smartwatch, they can share their location with friends and family so they can see where they’re at on the course. Click on your device type for a how-to guide for sharing locations on different devices: iPhone, Apple Watch, Garmin, Android (via Google Maps)

Cheer Zone at the Finish Line

Make your way to the WTHR Cheer Zone, located within the 500 Festival Post Race Party in Military Park where you can watch them cross the finish line! You’ll be so motivated after seeing all the different types of people crossing the finish line that you’ll want to be among the first to register for next year’s events.

Reunite With Your Participant

After the race, reunite with your participant in the 500 Festival Post Race Party. Located in Military Park in downtown Indianapolis, head to the Family Reunion Area in the north section of the park. There you will see signs representing every letter of the alphabet. Plan to reunite with your participant under the sign representing your last name. While at the Post Race Party, stay and enjoy an ice-cold Michelob ULTRA, great live music, and outstanding food from local food vendors.
