Race Packet Pick-Up

Race packets can be picked up on race morning starting 90 minutes prior to each race. Be sure to allow yourself enough time to get from packet pickup to the start. Please note that race packets will not be mailed (unless you are participating in the Virtual Miler Series).
  • Doors for the 3-Miler open at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9:00 a.m.
  • Doors for the 6-Miler open at 7:30 a.m. and the race starts at 9:00 a.m.
  • Doors for the 10-Miler open at 6:30 a.m. and the race starts at 8:00 a.m.

Start Line Information for Race Day

The 500 Festival has instituted a self-seeding start line system to help you judge where to line up race morning. Please place yourself in the corral that best suits your estimated pace per mile. This system will create a better experience for all participants! The corral Self-Seeding Times: 6 min and under, 7 min/mile, 8 min/mile, 9 min/mile, 10 min/mile, 11 min/mile, 12 min/mile, 13 min/mile, 14 min/mile, and walkers.




📌 Switching from In-Person to Virtual for the 10-Miler?

Planning to switch from in-person participation to virtual participation for the 10-Miler? No problem! If you were initially registered for the on-site event but now prefer the virtual experience, it's easy. Please email raceinfo@500festival.com if you were initially an in-person participant, so we know to mail your medal! Conquer your 10-Miler on your terms, then fill out the Virtual 10-Miler form located on the Virtual Miler Series page. That's all you need to do!





Pit Stations

Pit Stations will be set up at all three races. See course maps for locations so you can plan your hydration schedule.
  • An 18-minute-per-pace will be enforced for each event
  • All pit stations will have water and Gatorade
  • Port-o-lets will also be located at each station

Street Safety

Safety first! Most streets will only be partially closed for the events, so please stay within the cones. Also, please remember that walkers should stay to the right of the course and should stay no more than two abreast to allow for passing on the left.

Your Timing Device

The timing device is a single-use Bib Tag. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is: Clearly visible on the front of the torso Unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle) Not covered (i.e. jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)

Weather Policy

Race officials may cancel, delay or change the event in case of extreme weather or other conditions that may affect the safety and health of the participants. In the event of cancellation, refunds will not be issued. For the latest weather information regarding each event on race day of the event, please follow us on Twitter @500festival.

Race Regulations

Participants will:
  • Not be allowed to participate without a visible bib number
  • Not be allowed on the course before the official start
  • Not participate with another person’s number
  • Obey all directions by course marshals, police, and safety personnel (streets will not be completely closed)
The 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, is open to both runners and walkers. A time limit of 18 minutes per mile is required, after which, participants will be required to board the trail vehicle.

Unregistered participants, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, strollers, baby joggers, and animals are prohibited along the course. All race regulations comply with liability insurance requirements and ensure your safety and the fairness of the event. For your safety and the safety of others, please allow room for faster individuals to pass you. If you are running and walking with friends, please do
not line up more than two abreast. We will be utilizing partial lane closures during each event. Please stay alert for vehicular traffic.
