We invite everyone to join us for the 2021 OneAmerica 500 Festival Virtual Mini-Marathon and Delta Dental 500 Festival Virtual 5K! Virtual participants will receive a box full of items to enhance their Virtual Indy Mini experience, including the participant shirt, medal, and hat, runner’s services items, expo samples, and more!*

Virtual participants will also receive digital resources to help them have the best hometown Indy Mini! These resources include:

  • Digital Bibs
  • Social Media Frames
  • Private Facebook Group
  • Spotify Playlist
  • And MUCH more!

Virtual participants can use the NEW Indy Mini app to enhance their Virtual Indy Mini. Participants who run with their phone or Strava will have their mileage automatically added to the official results. Participants using the app will experience some of the Indy Mini’s most famous attractions – the sound of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, supportive messages from our community partners, and more!

*All virtual participants will receive their participant shirt, finisher medal, and hat; additional items are limited to the first 6,000 virtual Indy Mini participants and the first 800 5K participants.

Participants' options (virtual participation, defer to 2022, or lend a hand) are only applicable to those who register before March 1. Participants who register outright for the Virtual Indy Mini, Virtual 5K, or Virtual Mega Mini Challenge are not eligible to defer their registration to 2022.

The deadline for previously registered participants to select their participant option has passed. Please email raceinfo@500festival.com with any questions.

Out of concern for the health and safety of our participants, volunteers, medical providers, staff, and the community the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K will not be conducted as an in-person event this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently registered participants can choose from one of the following options:

  1. Participate virtually
Virtual participants can expect to receive an entire box filled with virtual goodies*, including their shirt, medal, hat, runner’s services items, exhibitor samples, and much more!

  2. Lend a Hand
By selecting this option, you’re paying it forward for Indiana youth, and they need you now more than ever. When you lend a hand, you ensure the 500 Festival can continue to bring free health and fitness programs to schools and communities across the state. With a significant loss in support due to our largest fundraiser (the Indy Mini) going virtual – your help this year means so much.*

  3. Defer to 2022
If you would like to use your 2020 or 2021 registration fees to participate in the 2022 event, you can opt to defer your registration. We will provide additional instructions on how to register for the 2022 Indy Mini later this year.

Currently registered participants received an email regarding these options on March 1, 2021. The email address it was sent from is info+auto@runsignup.com. If you don’t see the email in your inbox, it could be in your junk or spam folder. Please see our how-to blog with instructions to make your decision.

* All virtual participants will receive their participant shirt, finisher medal, and hat; additional items are limited to the first 6,000 virtual Indy Mini participants and the first 800 5K participants.

**The deadline to make your selection is 3/31/21. Any participants who have not opted to participate virtually or to defer to 2022 will be considered a Lend a Hand participant.

Refund And Cancelation Policy

All entries are non-refundable, no exceptions. Once we receive your entry, you will not receive a refund for any reason, even if you cannot participate. Registered participants acknowledge that their registration is only a license to participate in the event. There is no guarantee as to the quality or any element of the scheduled event. The scheduled event may be canceled, shortened, or altered due to weather, other acts of God, terrorism, or for any other reason or reasons within or not within the control of the 500 Festival, whether in whole or in part. There are no refunds for any reason whatsoever.

Every 2021 registered participant is informed of this information twice during the registration process, once on the waiver page, and again on the checkout page. In both instances, participants must initial that they understand this policy.

RaceRaves published an article that explains what currently registered participants should expect if their race is canceled. Our no refund policy is incredibly common among races of all sizes.

If you have any questions, please email raceinfo@500festival.com for more information.
