Indy Mini Ambassador Program

Do you want to represent The Greatest Spectacle in Running? We're looking for a group of diverse, enthusiastic participants of all abilities to offer encouragement, inclusivity, motivation, and inspiration to others as they represent and promote the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.

Indy Mini Ambassadors are the face of the Greatest Spectacle in Running! Their role is to get others excited about the Indy Mini online by sharing your passion for running/walking, inspiring others to pursue a healthy lifestyle, and having fun with a community of runners and walkers! You will also help promote Indy Mini registrations as an advocate of the race in your community and online, and earn some exclusive perks along the way.

Indy Mini Ambassadors are an incredible diverse group of runners and walkers that offer encouragement, inclusivity, motivation, and inspiration as they represent and promote the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. Ambassadors get others in their community excited about the Indy Mini on social media and their network of friends and family by sharing their passion for running and walking. inspiring others to pursue a healthy lifestyle demonstrating leadership, and having fun!


Applications are now closed. Be sure to check back in the fall of 2024 for next year's race!

Meet the 2024 Ambassadors

Gerard Boyd

Hello I am Gerard!. I am masters student in exercise physiology at Ball state. I enjoy running, cooking, and learning about the benefits of exercise through mechanisms in the body.

Bennie Britt

As a stroke survivor, I know everyday and every step I take is a gift. So, I want to encourage others to take steps foward and do as much with their lives as possible.

Zachery Cramer

My name is Zachery Cramer, but you can call me Zach and I he/him pronouns. I have lived in Indianapolis since the Summer of 2019 and have been actively running since the Fall of 2022. My partner and I are residents of the Eastside of Indianapolis where we live with our cat and dog - and my favorite place to run on that side of town is the Pogue's Run Trail. When I'm not running, I am working as the Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Opportunity for the Indiana State Personnel Department where I run a number of programs and initiatives focused on attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent of all kinds within state government.

Chris Doxtator

My name is Chris Doxtator and I am a runner. I am also a accomplished pilot. I’ve overcome so many adversities and tragedies in life. One step at a time I keep moving forward!

Amber Dukes

Hello! My name is Amber Dukes, I am 26 years old. I am an Indianapolis native who attends IU-Indianapolis, formally known as IUPUI. I am a junior studying elementary education. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, building my small business, traveling, and spending time with family. I am an advocate for health, I believe that our health is our wealth, and as a community, it's our responsibility to be role models for the next generation.

Megan Garden

Megan Garden is a wife, mom, dog mom, nurse, and runner who loves new running experiences. She has completed 2 marathons, 2 ultra marathons, lots of half marathons, and recently her first triathlon in the 2 years she has been running.

Hannah Gardner

Hi! My name is Hannah. I moved to Indy four years ago from Elkhart Indiana. My excitement for running began in 2020 when I started training for my first half marathon/ my first Indy mini as an Indy local, until I had to complete it virtually on my own during the pandemic. I was determined to do another one in person. When I did get to run the race in person it was nothing I had ever experienced before, SO much fun and a very rewarding race. 🥇 The hype is unmatched. That is why I #IndyMini

Alli Lee

Hi, I’m Alli! I ran my first Indy Mini in 2022 as a 31-year-old mother of two little boys and I never want to miss the energy of this event again. I may be just an average mother runner, but I’ve learned that running really isn’t about how fast you are, it's all about reaching the finish line. Running has changed my life and I can’t wait to see you soar through the speedway with me this May.

Pamela Malone

I'm a passionate encourager of people, positivity, and progress. Being a college dean, entrepreneur, and engaged community member brings me great joy. I love spending time with family and friends, reading, and participating in sports--especially running.

Jennifer Marble

I am a second-grade teacher who runs for my mind, body, and soul. I started running to take care of myself and now I find so much joy in exploring the trails Indiana has to offer. The Indy Mini is my absolute favorite race!

Linda McElhiney

I am the Senior Compounding Pharmacist for IU Health and I am the current VP for Alumni Development for Kappa Epsilon Pharmacy Fraternity. I have received several awards and interviewed a few times about walking as a grief coping mechanism. I participate as a walker in several central Indiana 5Ks, 10Ks, and half-marathons.

Claire Nation

I'm Claire! I am a college student at Indiana University and I have been running for 8 years. As a runner suffering from Celiac Disease, I have overcome many setbacks in my running journey, but they have led me to be the athlete I am today. I have participated in the Indy Mini for 2 years, and I have fallen in love with the contagiously positive environment that includes runners of all ages and speed. I love the connections and community I have made through running and I hope to inspire others to get active and find joy in their journey!

Andrew Peterson

Andrew is a local resident of the Indianapolis area and a Special Olympics Gold Medalist. He was the second Special Olympics athlete to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Andrew is also a coach and mentor for Washington Township Special Olympics athletes!

Corey Queen

Hi! I’m Corey and on top of being a Father of 4 Blessings, I love Running! I also work at the Louisville, KY Fleet Feet and enjoy helping new runners find the running shoes they are going to make PLENTY of memories in!

Lynn Ray

I live an active lifestyle and share my love for the Indy Mini with members of my fitness classes, personal training clients, work, and community. Come join the fun and sign up for an amazing time at the Indy Mini with thousands of others!

Alyssa Ritter

I am a 2021 Butler University graduate and a current Marian University medical student, originally from Hartland, WI. I have been running since 2010, when my parents started signing our family up for monthly 5ks, year-round! I am most excited for the 2024 Indy Mini Marathon because my dad is going to run it with me, and we are going to go for my personal PR!

Jennifer Spangler

I started running in 2013 at the age of 43 and ever since, I have absolutely loved running. It is something that relieves stress and helps find me joy! My favorite piece in this running journey I am on, the amazing people it has brought into my life.

Courtney Townsend

Hi! My name is Courtney Townsend; just your average runner who is passionate about the environment and conservation, and always telling a joke/pun! I ran my first Indy Mini in 2014 and have been running every year since then! If I'm not running on the Monon with my husband or watching Butler basketball, you can find me playing trivia on Wednesday nights! I have a goal to run a half marathon in every state! Happy running!

Jon Wade

Jon is an RRCA Certified Running Coach preparing runners for races all over the world. Jon’s first half marathon was the Indy Mini and has logged several races from 5ks to the Ultramarathon. He is an Indy native, but loves to hit the road wherever he finds himself!

Joe Wilmot

I am 47 years old and have 2 sons and 2 daughters. I enjoy running with my wife and have completed 1 marathon,49 half marathons, and over 100 5k races. I have a bachelor degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and associate degree from Purdue University.

Nicole Yankauskas

Hi! I'm Nicole - a mom of 3 young kiddos, a sucker for a McD's Diet Coke, and an outdoor adventure enthusiast! I am driven to embrace every moment and seize every opportunity for exploration and fun. Join me in experiencing the thrill of the race, the joy of smiling for 13.1 miles, and the sense of accomplishment that comes with every finish line!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, foster a sense of community, and be respectful to each other, the 500 Festival staff, volunteers, and other participants
  • Required participation in the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and the 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, whether in-person or virtual.
  • Recruit a minimum of 10 participants for the Indy Mini using your unique referral code
  • Include “#IndyMiniAmb” in at least one social media bio
  • Have a strong social media presence including:
    • Post regarding the Indy Mini on your platforms a minimum of twice per month
    • Announce that you have been selected as an Indy Mini Ambassador on at least one platform
    • Engage with participants in the 2024 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon Facebook group
  • Recruit a minimum of 5 volunteers for any 500 Festival event or program
  • Complete at least one (1) volunteer session at the Mini-Marathon Expo
  • Attend all Indy Mini Ambassador meetings

Ambassador Rules & Regulations

Please note that Ambassadors are NOT financially compensated in any way. We do not subsidize travel, training expenses or issue payment of any kind to our team. Ambassadors for the 2024 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon will serve from October 2023 through May 2024. We reserve the right to remove any Ambassador from the team at any time due to poor conduct or failure to perform duties.
