Mini with a Meaning

The Mini With a Meaning program gives participants the opportunity to make your #IndyMini or Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K experience even more meaningful by raising awareness and funds in support of a non-profit organization. All Mini-Marathon and 5K registrations help support the 500 Festival's free youth and educational programming. By participating in Mini With a Meaning, runners and walkers have the ability to expand their impact even further within the Indianapolis community.

Learn more about the official 2019 Mini with a Meaning non-profit organizations below. There you will find more details and contact information on how to participate as a member of that team.

If you are a member of a non-profit organization and would like to learn more about participating in the 2020 500 Festival Mini With a Meaning program, please fill out this form. Or, you can contact Cole Bailey at

Back on My Feet

Our Mission: Back on My Feet combats homelessness through the power of running, community support, and essential employment and housing resources. Our Vision: Back on My Feet seeks to revolutionize the way our society approaches homelessness. Our unique running-based model demonstrates that if you first restore confidence, strength, and self-esteem, individuals are better equipped to tackle the road ahead and move toward jobs, homes, and new lives. For all in need, we aim to provide: practical training and employment resources for achieving independence; an environment that promotes accountability; and a community that offers compassion and hope. For all with the capacity to serve—volunteers, donors, community and corporate partners—we seek to engage you in the profound experience of empowering individuals to achieve what once seemed impossible through the seemingly simple act of putting one foot in front of the other.

Indiana Lyme Connect

Join our team at Indiana Lyme Connect in the fight against Lyme Borreliosis Complex – a myriad of related conditions, including Lyme Disease and other tick-borne infections. By running with us, you will bolster our outreach efforts, which include supporting patients who are dealing with Lyme Borreliosis Complex, educating the greater Indiana community about this often devastating illness, and preparing healthcare professionals to combat this public health crisis. May is Lyme Disease Awareness Month, so it’s the perfect time to run/walk with the Indiana Lyme Connect team to restore patients’ lives and shine a light on this often debilitating disease!

Jonnie's Goodguys

Jonnie’s Goodguys is a non profit group, founded in honor of Jonathan Miller, that raises awareness of heart & aortic health issues through social media & fundraising by running road races. Although Jon was not really a runner, he and his wife ran the Mini-Marathon together, including getting engaged at the finish line in 2002. Shortly after his passing from an Aortic Dissection in 2005, his friends and family joined his widow to run The Mini. From that small start, Jonnie’s Goodguys has grown to partner nationally with The Marfan Foundation and The John Ritter Foundation for Aortic Health. Their current campaign is to provide Heart Scan gift cards for those in need. Join them in their efforts to #DoGoodStuff.

Riley Children's Foundation

Run the “Mini with a Meaning.” Join Team Riley to raise funds for thousands of families seeking help for seriously ill and injured children; help that only Riley Hospital for Children can provide.
