INDIANAPOLIS (October 25, 2018)The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500®, announced today that registration is open for the 2019 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy. The three race series, which consists of events in February, March and April, will have a new start and finish line location in 2019 – The Pavilion at Pan Am Plaza in downtown Indianapolis. Participants can register for the Miler Series at IndyMini.com/Milers. Now through October 31st, participants can register at the lowest rate, paying just $55 to take part in all 3 events. Pricing will increase starting November 1st.

With the new location of the start and finish line for the 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, participants will enjoy new courses that will weave throughout downtown Indianapolis. 2019 Miler Series participants will experience new paths throughout the city as well as favorited touchstones, such as the Soldiers’ and Sailor’s Monument and the Indiana War Memorial.

“We continue to see growth in participation with the 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy. Our participants love experiencing downtown Indianapolis and we’re excited to continue offering updated courses for runners and walkers,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO, 500 Festival. ”With a new start and finish line location at Pan Am Plaza, we will be able to provide a refreshed, unique change of scenery for the three events.”

The 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, consists of three running / walking events at three unique distances, a 3-Miler, 6-Miler and 10-Miler. The 2019 Miler Series will kick off on Saturday, February 9 with the 3-Miler. The timing of the races coincide with a typical 12-week training program for a spring distance race, such as the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. The Miler Series is the perfect opportunity to help you gauge your training progression, practice your race day strategy (hydration, pacing, fueling), meet a running partner, have fun and earn some swag! Those who register for all three events within the Miler Series - which includes the 3-Miler, 6-Miler, and 10-Miler - will earn the title of Podium Finisher and receive a gender specific technical t-shirt and medal.

There is also an opportunity to participate from out of town, by registering for the 2019 Virtual Miler Series. Registration for the Virtual Miler Series is $40 and participants will receive a bib, a gender specific technical t-shirt, and a finisher medal. Virtual Miler Series participants complete the corresponding distance on each race day, from the location of their choice. Participants then submit their race time and photos upon completing the designated distance.
